Your primary care physicians screen for diabetes to aid in the prevention and early detection of Type 2 Diabetes and will develop a treatment plan to meet your needs. Since Diabetes is a multi-faceted disease process requiring care from a variety of specialties your plan may include referrals to Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Neurology and Cardiology or Diabetes Education Program.
