DuPage Medical Group is excited to announce the addition of Ed Valkner PT to our staff. Ed is a 1993 graduate of the University of Heath Sciences at the Chicago Medical School and also holds a BS in Biology from Augustana College in Rock Island Illinois. Additionally, Ed achieved board certification as an Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) in 1999 and is also a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). Ed practices out of our Bartlett and Wheaton locations.
Prior to joining DMG, Ed applied his skills in his own private practice. He is experienced in all aspects of orthopedic physical therapy including sports medicine, foot and ankle rehabilitation, shoulder, and spine rehab. Ed employs a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise in his treatment approach and strives to educate his patients in injury prevention and self-management of their condition. Additionally, Ed is certified in conducting Isernhagan Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) (now the Work Well system).
Ed is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. He has participated in community health fairs, providing injury screening and posture education. He has been a lab instructor for MAPS (Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars). Ed is also active in the professional education of area physical therapy students.
