Nancy Baarman, PT MS, joined our professional staff in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
In addition to adult orthopedics, Nancy has 10 years of experience in the field of Pediatric Physical Therapy, having worked in the school-system with special needs children prior to joining DMG. She is especially skilled in treating children 3 to 10 years of age who have orthopedic problems or who are developmentally delayed. Nancy uses her creativity and energy to make therapy fun for her young patients. She understands the importance of educating her patient’s caregivers to be able to participate in therapeutic activities at home with their child.
Nancy uses her expertise in motor development to guide her treatment approach when working with both her pediatric and adult patients. She follows Gary Gray’s functional progression exercises and has participated in “Female Chain Reaction” as well as coursework in SI/Pelvic dysfunction and McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. As an “outside the box” problem solver Nancy is able to apply treatment principles from different disciplines to help her patients overcome their injury and return to an active lifestyle.
