A board certified surgeon, Dr. Mangat has extensive experience in both benign and malignant diseases of the breast. Her academic and professional experience is highlighted by multiple publications, including several research abstracts and peer reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Mangat believes in state-of-the-art surgical care practiced with open communication and compassion.
Dr. Mangat received her medical degree in 1995 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Illinois Hospitals and Clinics in Chicago in 2000. Dr. Mangat went on to pursue further training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York where she completed a Breast Surgery Visiting Fellowship. Most recently in 2008, she completed a one year breast surgery fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, adding to her further expertise in this field.
Dr. Mangat is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She also speaks Hindi, Punjabi, and Cantonese. Dr. Mangat is affiliated with Central DuPage, Edward and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
