With his expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. Yu specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with asthma, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung transplantation and sleep disorders. He has been a research assistant at the University of San Diego, where he focused on immunology and allergy issues, cardiology, and gastroenterology. Dr. Yu has published and presented widely on critical care and pulmonary medicine topics.
Dr. Yu received his medical degree in 1998 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood. In 2001, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center, where he also underwent intensive training in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine from 2001-2004. He was named Chief Fellow for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Program in 2004 and was responsible for creating the education-based Loyola's pulmonary and critical care web site.
Dr. Yu is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Edward, and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
