Paul Ellis, PA-C

Paul Ellis is a board-certified Physician Assistant that started with The Spine Center in 2008. He is currently in his seventh year of practice as a Physician Assistant. After graduating from Finch University/Chicago Medical School, Paul continued his Physician Assistant training by completing an extensive post-graduate Physician Assistant residency program specializing in orthopedic and spine surgery. In his training and work experience, Paul has assisted in the surgical care and post-operative management of patients from over 35 spine and orthopedic surgeons. In addition Paul has continued to maintain his certification as an Athletic Trainer since 1999.

In the clinical setting Paul has been evaluating and establishing treatment plans for patients with spine conditions, including Herniated Discs, Degenerative Disc Disease, Cervical Myelopathy, Scoliosis, Spondylolisthesis, Spinal Stenosis, Compression/Burst Fractures, Facet Arthropathy, Sacral Iliac Dysfunction, Spondylosis and Spinal Sprains/Strains. Paul has been trained to assist in the latest minimally invasive spinal procedures including eXtreme Lateral Interbody Fusion (XLIF), Spinous Process spacer (Xstop), Kyphoplasty, Percutaneous Pedicle Screws and Total Disc Replacement. Over the past several years Paul has been making presentations to area physicians, mid-level providers and nurses on the evaluation of spine patients and minimally invasive procedures available for various spine conditions. Paul has additional training in advanced wound care/closure techniques, post-operative patient management and rehabilitative techniques.

Paul has built a quality reputation with his patients by taking the time to listen to the needs and concerns of each patient. Every patient is given an individualized plan of care based on the diagnosis and the patient’s personal desires. Paul cares for patients at The Spine Center in both Naperville and Lombard. In addition, Paul assists Dr. Paul and Dr. Mataragas with surgical procedures.
