Dr. Monson completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois, where he was an Edmund J. James Scholar, for his academic honors. He received his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago in 1998. Dr. Monson went on to complete his residency and fellowship at Michigan State University. He received a Master's Degree from Michigan State in surgical research and has published several papers in the field of cancer surgery. Dr. Monson is an expert in surgeries of the gastrointestinal tract, breast, skin, thyroid and parathyroid glands. He is skilled in the use of the most advanced minimally invasive techniques.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Monson is a member of the American Medical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Good Samaritan, and Edward Hospitals. Breast patients are seen at our River North Naperville location only.
