Dr. Paul Merrick is a board-certified urologist in practice at DuPage Medical Group since 1994. He graduated from University of Illinois Undergraduate School and did both his medical school and residency at Rush University in Chicago.
Dr. Merrick has had a busy practice taking care of all types of urologic disease with particular emphasis in the care for cancer patients, voiding dysfunction patients, and stone patients. Dr. Merrick offers evaluation and treatment for all states of prostate cancer including minimally invasive intervention of nerve-sparing surgery and brachytherapy for treatment of localized cancer. For bladder cancer, there are a variety of treatments offered with a goal of preserving normal bladder function and minimizing risk of progression of disease. He has a long track record of managing surgical disease of kidney cancer with very favorable outcomes.
Dr. Merrick has treated literally thousands of kidney stone patients and has done thousands of vasectomies and has had nice success with vasectomy reversal as well. Dr. Merrick offers a variety of minimally invasive treatments, both medical and surgical, and some office-based treatments for benign prostate enlargement or male voiding difficulties and has minimally invasive behavioral and surgical and medical options for female incontinence. He is well versed in all current surgical and non-surgical therapies for erectile dysfunction.
