A dedicated and specialized physician, Dr. Heavey (formerly Dr. Painter) brings extensive endocrinology expertise to her role at DuPage Medical Group. Dr. Heavey's special areas of clinical interest include diabetes, osteoporosis and thyroid disorders, as well as other endocrine diseases.
Dr. Heavey earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her medical degree in 2001 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Loyola University Medical Center. During her residency she was named Associate Chief Resident from 2003-2004. While at Loyola, Dr. Heavey also completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and was named Chief Fellow from 2005-2006. She is also a published author of several abstracts and articles concerning endocrinology and osteoporosis.
Dr. Heavey is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. She is affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital.
