A very experienced and well trained physician, Dr. Nasir Shahab brings his knowledge of Hematology and Oncology to DuPage Medical Group. Dr. Shahab is board certified physician with clinical interests which include cancers of various types including; brain, breast, colon, head and neck, lung, as well as prostate. Dr. Shahab also has special interests in testicular cancer, leukemia and lymphoma.
Dr. Shahab completed his residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1994. He completed his fellowship focused on Hematology-Medical Oncology at the University of Missouri in the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. While practicing medicine at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Shahab also did work as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology-Medical Oncology. He has also worked as a Journal reviewer and Editor for educational journals such as the American Journal of Hematology and Seminars in Oncology; and was the editor of the Companion Handbook to the Chemotherapy Source Book. Dr. Shahab has completed extensive research in oncology, which includes multiple publications in journals and book chapters as well as numerous lectures and presentations. Dr. Shahab has also received numerous awards including the Award of Merit of the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the Outstanding Preceptor in Physical Diagnosis from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Dr. Shahab is a fellow of the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine, and member of American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has been affiliated with the Cancer and Leukemia Study Group, National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project, and the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Edward and Good Samaritan Hospitals.
