Dr. Nichols is one of the few double board certified podiatric surgeons in the area.
He is focused on providing comprehensive foot and ankle healthcare for his patients. Dr. Nichols has a caring, integrative approach that combines surgical, biological, biomechanical, rehabilitative, and behavioral methods. His research has been published in the Clinics of Podiatric Medicine. He also participates in Operation Condor, a yearly medical mission to South America. Dr. Nichols actively trains residents and was voted "Attending of the Year" at Saint Joseph Hospital in 2004. He also received the award "Rotarian of the year" in 1997. Dr. Nichols continues to receive additional training on ground breaking ankle salvage procedures and specializes in the surgical treatment of foot and ankle deformities.
Dr. Nichols received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1990 from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. He completed his two-year Podiatric Surgical Residency at Lincoln West Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Nichols is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association. He is affiliated with Good Samaritan and Hinsdale Hospital and many surgery centers.
