As a member of our Cardiology Department, Dr. Giardina specializes in heart and vascular diseases. Dr. Giardina joined our Clinic on July 31, 1989, and has particular interest in cholesterol management, coronary stent placement, and hypertension. He feels it is important to give the patient the very best therapies available anywhere in the world, while stressing the importance of the individual patient.
Dr. Giardina received his medical degree in 1982 from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School. He completed his Residency at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago, IL, and completed his Fellowship at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. Prior to joining the Clinic, he was a faculty member at Loyola.
He is a volunteer at the DuPage Community Clinic, a clinic serving the county's uninsured patients. Dr. Giardina is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest Physicians. He has published numerous articles and abstracts in the field of cardiac angiography. Dr. Giardina specializes in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Giardina is the medical director or Cardiovascular Institue at Central DuPage Hospital.
Dr. Giardina practices at our Winfield location with privileges at Edward, Good Samaritan, and Central DuPage hospitals.
