Elisa Y. Rhew, M.D.
A very well trained physician, DuPage Medical Group is pleased to welcome board certified Dr. Elisa Rhew to the Rheumatology Department. Dr. Rhew has clinical interests of general rheumatology, her special interests include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, lupus, osteoporosis, Sjogren’s syndrome and other rheumatologic autoimmune diseases.
After completing her undergraduate education from Brown University in Liberal Medical Education with an AB degree in Religious Studies, Dr. Rhew received her medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine where she graduated with honors. She went on to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School for Internal Medicine residency and then came to Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine where she completed her Rheumatology fellowship and an MS degree in Clinical Investigation.
Dr. Rhew has received numerous awards and honors, including the ACR Rheumatology Fellow Award, an award given by the American College of Rheumatology to 10 fellows throughout the nation in recognition of meritorious performance during fellowship training. Following fellowship, Dr. Rhew was appointed a faculty position at Northwestern University, where she was involved in patient care, clinical research, and medical student/housestaff education.
Dr. Rhew is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the Clinical Immunology Society, the Lupus Foundation of America and the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research. She is affiliated with Edward Hospital.
