Avis Leung, P.T.

Avis Leung joined Dupage Medical Group in 2009. She earned her Professional Diploma in Physiotherapy from Hong Kong Polytechnics in 1987 and her BS in Applied Science in Physiotherapy in 1989 from Cumberland College of Health Sciences in Australia. Avis brings a wealth of knowledge to Dupage Medical Group and has over 10 years of experience working with the prenatal and post partum client and over 7 years of experience in pelvic floor rehabilitation for both men and women.

Avis has become a part of the Women’s/Men’s Health and Pelvic Floor team here at Dupage Medical Group and enjoys expanding her knowledge through continuing education to further enhance her skills and expertise in working with pelvic floor disorders , sacroiliac joint dysfunction and scoliosis patients. Avis began work towards her Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP) in April of 2010 and will finish her CAPP certification by September of 2010. This means that Avis has undergone an extensive and comprehensive education, training and testing program for the treatment of patients with a diagnosis of pelvic floor dysfunction, including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, post surgical pain and gastrointestinal orders. Avis was also awarded her specialty certification in Three Dimensional Scoliosis Therapy in September of 2008.

Avis most enjoys working with both the male and female patients who have pelvic floor disorders, assisting them to become an advocate for themselves and an integral part of their own rehabilitation program. She has a reputation for providing excellence in care. In addition, Avis is fluent in Chinese and is able to provide treatment and evaluation for those patients who speak Chinese as their primary language.
