Referrals to specialists

Referrals to specialists within DuPage Medical Group usually are processed in 1-3 business days and referrals to specialists outside of DuPage Medical Group require 3-5 business days for processing.  To check on the status of a referral, contact utilization management at 630.942.7995.

Medication refills

Please allow 48-72 hours for a response to your request for a medication refill. Narcotic and controlled substances refills are done by a patient’s primary physician and are not done on weekends or after hours.

Illness after hours

A physician is on call after hours to answer your urgent medical questions.  Call 630.213.7788 to contact the on call physician. If you have HMO insurance, you are required to obtain pre-authorization for emergency department visits from your physician, except in the case of life-threatening emergencies.

Laboratory hours

All labs have to be scheduled.  We do not accept walk-ins.  Patients can call to schedule lab appointments with a nurse.  There are no lab appointments on Wednesdays.
