DuPage Medical Group CEO named Heart Walk co-chair

DuPage, IL, September 11, 2007 - DuPage Medical Group (DMG) announced today that Ed Carne, DMG Chief Executive Officer has been named co-chair for the 2008 American Heart Association’s Metro Chicago Heart Walk.
“I am looking forward to serving as co-chair of the Chicago Heart Walk. Heart disease impacts many lives in the United States and DuPage Medical Group is committed to promoting healthy living within our community. We are pleased to partner with the American Heart Association to ensure a successful Heart Walk and help reduce heart disease in Illinois and across the county,” said Carne.
The mission of the annual Chicago Heart Walk is to create opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke. DMG has committed to raise $100,000 for the 2007 Heart Walk which will take place September 29. In 2006 DMG raised nearly $65,000.
More people die of cardiovascular diseases in the U.S. than the next seven leading causes of death combined. According to current estimates, 59.7 million Americans have one or more types of cardiovascular diseases. The American Heart Association has publicly pledged to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25% by the year 2010.
