Glen Ellyn Sun Lists DuPage Medical Group as Number One Business to Watch in 2009

The Village of Glen Ellyn is working to become a thriving business district. To aid that goal, Glen Ellyn’s Chamber of Commerce listed five of the new and existing businesses that have made an impact. DuPage Medical Group tops the list at Number One with its 430 Pennsylvania Avenue building.
This state-of-the-art building opened in March 2008, replacing the long-standing building that has been part of Glen Ellyn’s downtown area for many years. The physician-owned medical group is the largest employer in the Glen Ellyn business district. The Chamber of Commerce recently awarded DuPage Medical Group with an award for the new facility’s architecture and contribution to the community.
As Mary Goldsher, DMG’s Executive Director of Administrative Services, states in the Glen Ellyn Sun (January 12, 2009 online edition), “We’re always trying to improve our quality of health care.” This year the medical group will become paperless through the use of an electronic medical records system. Already in place at several DMG offices, in 2009 this system will allow physicians to access their patients’ medical records and diagnostic imaging tests at all DuPage Medical Group’s locations throughout DuPage, Will, and Kane counties. This will help patients by allowing their physicians quick and accurate access to their information regardless of which DMG office the patient visits.

Join Dr. David Dungan at the Family Fitness Fair and discover resources on how to help your family win the battle of obesity. The Family Fitness Fair will provide opportunities for students and their families to learn about healthy eating options, take part in games, and even try a yoga class. Same Day and After Hour Appointments at DuPage Medical Group

As noted in West Suburban Living Magazine in their January/February 2009 issue, DuPage Medical Group created same-day and after-hours appointments to better serve our patients. We listen to what our patients tell us about what is important to them. They say they are busier than ever these days and they want to see a physician right away, especially when they don’t feel well. Our Same-Day Appointments allow patients to call our Primary Care physicians and be seen the same day. After-Hours Care means that patients can be treated even when our offices are closed.
“Much like pharmacies or urgent care centers, our patients can receive medical care when it’s most convenient for them, whether during the day, evening, or weekend,” says Dr. Richard Krouse, Board Certified Internist with DuPage Medical Group. Patients also receive the benefits of our electronic medical record system. “With this technology, our physicians have access to the patient’s medical records and can communicate with other DuPage Medical Group physicians to coordinate the appropriate follow up care, ” notes Dr. Krouse.

Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Awards DMG Architectural Excellence Award

On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce President Elizabeth A. Evans presented Rik Baier, Chief Operations Officer of DuPage Medical Group, with the 2008 Architectural Excellence Award. This award was in appreciation for our Glen Ellyn building’s architecture as well as our contribution to the community. DMG was awarded for enhancing the appearance of the Glen Ellyn Community with the completion of our Glen Ellyn Medical Building located 430 Pennsylvania Avenue in Glen Ellyn.
DuPage Medical Group has served the health and medical needs of Glen Ellyn and surrounding communities for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art Glen Ellyn medical building has 92,000 square feet of space for primary care and specialty services. Housed on the first floor off of Pennsylvania Avenue is Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, and Optique - our new optical boutique. The second floor has Glen Ellyn Pediatrics, Asthma and Allergy Center, Orthopeadics, Podiatry, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, and Registration. Internal Medicine, Diabetic Education and Dietitian Services, Dermatology, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Audiology, OB/Gynecology, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Breast Surgery complete the third floor.
