Cami Morgan, R.D.Cami Morgan, R.D., LDN, CDE, appears in October 2009’s Naperville Magazine issue on “Vitamins, Exercise & Diabetes,” an article by Barbara C. Neff.  The article discusses how researches have recently found that taking antioxidant supplements such as Vitamin C and E may cancel out some benefits of exercise, in particular those people who exercise to manage or try to prevent Type-2 diabetes.  Cami advises getting antioxidants from whole foods since fruits and vegetables have bio-active compounds.  “If you get antioxidants from those foods, there are a lot of those other bio-active compounds that may actually promote the antioxidants to work better.  If you’re just taking it as a supplement, you may not be getting those other compounds, so it may not be working as well,” states Cami.
