DMG’s Hinsdale Dermatologist, Dr. Alix Charles, travels to Haiti twice a year for health care and education missions. Earlier in October, Dr. Charles visited a town called Cap-Haitian on the northern coast of Haiti. There, he provided medical services to more than 2,000 Haitians. See photos below of Dr. Charles’ recent trip.
“It is very satisfying to go there and know you are making a difference in the lives of people less fortunate than you,” said Dr. Charles in an interview with My Suburban Life. Haiti is the homeland of Dr. Charles’ parents. His father was a doctor and his mother, a nurse. They immigrated to the United States in the 1960’s.
In January, Dr. Charles will visit Haiti as part of a contingent that educates doctors, nurses, and medical students at the National University Medical School in Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince.
A board certified dermatologist, Dr. Charles practices at our Dermatology Institute office in Hinsdale. Please call 630-286-5050 to schedule an appointment.
