Dr. Terry DonatDuPage Medical Group’s Dr. Terry Donat was interviewed recently for the January/February 2010 issue of West Suburban Living.  In the article titled, “Defying Age”, he discusses less-invasive procedures such as Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing which is less traumatic to the skin than traditional laser resurfacing.   “You don’t have to remove the entire surface of the face to get heat to the deeper tissue,” says Dr. Donat.  Patients can split their treatment into several 15-minute sessions, and can return to work within three days after treatment.  With traditional lasers, Dr. Donat says, “a patient’s face would be red and blistered for two to four weeks.”

Vectra, a 3D computer modeling system is helping both the doctor and patient make better-informed decisions about what procedures should be done as well as using the 3D model as a permanent record of the choices agreed upon.  “Three-dimensional imaging is more than a picture.  It measures the surface topography and creates a digital map of the entire face,” explains Dr. Donat.  He says, “The ultimate impact is that patients report feeling more calm and confident about undergoing the facial surgery or treatment I will perform.”

Dr. Donat is a board-certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with DuPage Medical Group.  He has been recognized in the past three years as one of “America’s Top Plastic Surgeons” by the independent Consumer’s Research Council.  He specializes in the latest techniques in facial aesthetic surgery for such procedures as rhinoplasty, facelift, and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).  He also offers minimally-invasive office treatments including Botox, various filler therapies (Juvederm, Radiesse, and Evolence), and laser skin treatments.
