Dr. Dawn KroenckeSeasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that typically occurs during the fall and winter months.  In the February 2010 edition of Naperville Magazine, Dawn Kroencke, a licensed clinical psychologist with DuPage Medical Group, was interviewed regarding this disorder.  The specific cause of SAD is not known, but it is believed that the reduced hours of daylight during the fall and winter months is the culprit.

“We all get the winter blues, but with SAD, it becomes so noted that you’re not doing things you enjoy, you’re not being around people, and you’re expressing the classic symptoms of depression,” says Dr. Kroencke.  Click here to read the entire article and discover options available to treat SAD.
