HomeBody Mass Index

Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of your body fat based on your height and weight. An elevated BMI may indicate a higher risk for diseases that occur in patients with excess body fat such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, pulmonary issues, some cancers and even gallstones. If you calculate your BMI and find that it is in a higher than normal range, see your primary care physician to help with wellness strategies for monitoring your health and lowering your risks.
