#DMGCares Week of Service

DuPage Medical Group: Social Impact

DuPage Medical Group (DMG) has always been committed to supporting the communities we call home through volunteer service and charitable giving. Founded in 2010, the DMG Charitable Fund has granted over $3.5 million to 135 nonprofit partners with a focus on food insecurity, housing and support services, and community health and wellness. In addition, our physicians and associates are actively involved in volunteering with nonprofit partners across our service areas.

#DMGCares Week of Service

This year, DMG is launching our first-ever #DMGCares Week of Service in conjunction with National Volunteer Week from April 18 – 24, 2021. The goal of #DMGCares is to work together to fight food insecurity in the communities where we live and work.

As part of the Week of Service, DMG physicians and associates will participate in volunteer service opportunities at five nonprofit partners located across our service areas. In addition, we will conduct an organization-wide food drive to collect nutritious food for neighbors in need.

The Need: Local Food Insecurity

In October 2020, Feeding America assessed food insecurity for Northern Illinois Food Bank’s service area and reported that food insecurity rates in Northern Illinois have increased from 7% to a projected 11% overall (up to one in nine people) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. For children, food insecurity rates have increased from 9% to 18% (one in six children).
