DMG Cardio Beats

By DuPage Medical Group Cardiology

Whether you use it as a distraction, encouragement, or to get pumped-up, listening to music can make working out more enjoyable. However, music can also be a useful tool you can implement into your workout routine. Just as a metronome keeps the beat, the beat of the music you listen to can keep your heartrate up at the appropriate level and help maximize your workout. But, knowing  which songs are too slow and which are too fast can be tricky. Where do you begin?

We’ve comprised a playlist you can use to kick your workout into gear. Each song on the playlist is between 120-140 beats per minute. Each time you feel the down-beat kick in, you should feel your heart beat as well. Try listening to these songs during your next workout and keep your heart in time with the music!
