By DMG Physical & Occupational Therapy

DuPage Medical Group is proud to offer a more comprehensive scope of therapy services for injured workersin the community through industrial rehabilitation. Industrial rehabilitation offers a continuum of services directed toward the prevention and management of work-related injuries through the use of services like functional capacity evaluations as well as work conditioning programs.

Functional capacity evaluations are comprehensive assessments designed to determine an injured worker’s safe return to-work abilities and environment. Functional ability testing reveals objective data regarding workers' tolerance for:

  • Lifting
  • Pushing
  • Pulling
  • Carrying
  • Squatting
  • Repetition of movement
  • Climbing
  • Duration of movement or position
  • Sitting
  • Standing
  • Walking
  • Bending
  • Kneeling
  • Reaching

Work conditioning is an intensive, job specific, and individualized program often proven to return the injured worker to full duty more efficiently than conventional therapy alone. Work conditioning is designed to progressively increase a workers strength, flexibility and endurance to expedite a quick return to work while avoiding re-injury.

DMG strives to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation program that increases workers' strength and physical tolerance for a successful return to work as soon as appropriate.
