Philosophy of Care

I have great pride in my profession of physical therapy. I take the extra time to get to know my patients in order to understand their individual impairments and treat their functional limitations, not just their medical diagnosis. I also believe educating my patients about their condition and ways to help maintain improvements is just as important as any treatment I can provide in the clinic. That being said, I also understand and utilize manual therapy techniques during my treatments for a variety of reasons, as I feel this is another area where the profession of physical therapy can really make a difference, especially in the first few weeks of treatment after an injury or surgery. Finally, as a member of the sports medicine special interest group, I love treating patients who have personal goals to get back to sports or wellness exercise, whether it’s getting an athlete back to the field before the season is over, or getting a patient back to a cardiovascular walking or running routine to improve their general health.
