DuPage Medical Group Acquires Cardiovascular Consultants of Naperville, S.C.January 29, 2014
NAPERVILLE, Ill. –- DuPage Medical Group, the largest independent, multi-specialty physician group in the Chicago area, welcomes four cardiologists and staff from Cardiovascular Consultants of Naperville, S.C. The physicians will remain at their existing location on the Edward Hospital campus at 100 Spalding Drive, Suite 212, in Naperville.
The new DMG physicians are:
- Dr. James P. Ostrenga, a board-certified interventional cardiologist who earned a medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Hines V.A. Hospital, and served as co-chief cardiology fellow during his training at Loyola University Medical Center. He later founded Cardiovascular Consultants of Naperville in 1988. Ostrenga has served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine and President of the Medical Staff at Edward Hospital.
- Dr. Mark Ottolin, a board-certified interventional cardiologist who earned his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, followed by his Fellowship in Cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center. Ottolin currently serves as chairman of the Department of Medicine at Edward Hospital and is on the Edward Hospital Executive Committee.
- Dr. Sharon Cline, a board-certified interventional cardiologist who earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. She completed her residency and later served as chief resident at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed both her general and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Krannert Institute of Cardiology at Indiana University.
- Dr. Sujith Kalathiveetil, a board-certified clinical cardiologist who earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. He served as chief medical resident at John Cochran V.A. Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Kalathiveetil is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, adult comprehensive echocardiography and cardiovascular CT.
The practice has provided cardiac care to patients in the Chicago area for more than 25 years prior to joining DMG—a decision its leadership says comes with significant benefits to both entities.
