DuPage Medical Group Orthopaedic Surgeons Join Chicago Society for Surgery of the Hand Executive Board

DOWN­ERS GROVE, Ill. — DuPage Med­ical Group (DMG), the largest inde­pen­dent, mul­ti-spe­cial­ty physi­cian group in Illi­nois, is proud to announce Drs. Andre Ivy and Bri­an Mur­phy, hand and upper extrem­i­ty orthopaedic sur­geons, have been appoint­ed to the 2020 – 2022 Exec­u­tive Board for Chica­go Soci­ety for Surgery of the Hand (CSSH). Dr. Ivy will serve as pro­gram direc­tor while Dr. Mur­phy will tran­si­tion from pres­i­dent to imme­di­ate past pres­i­dent. Found­ed in 1978, CSSH pro­vides orthopaedic sur­geons with con­tin­u­ing edu­ca­tion, research and advo­ca­cy oppor­tu­ni­ties in the field of hand surgery. 

As pro­gram direc­tor, Dr. Ivy will engage and recruit new Soci­ety mem­bers through­out Chicagoland and orga­nize select lec­tures and meet­ings. In his role as pres­i­dent, Dr. Mur­phy set the Society’s strate­gic vision and ensured it main­tained a high lev­el of edu­ca­tion­al and col­le­gial inter­ac­tion for CSSH mem­bers. In his new role as imme­di­ate past pres­i­dent, he will ensure con­ti­nu­ity for all CSSH efforts mov­ing forward.

“In addi­tion to advanc­ing the field of hand surgery as a whole, the CSSH edu­cates, con­nects and improves the prac­tice of hand surgery in our com­mu­ni­ty while pro­vid­ing mem­bers with the oppor­tu­ni­ty to inter­act with prac­ti­tion­ers from all of the groups in the Chica­go area, both aca­d­e­m­ic and pri­vate prac­tices,” said Dr. Murphy. 

Dr. Mur­phy has been a mem­ber of CSSH for 15 years and Dr. Ivy has been a mem­ber for near­ly three years.
