My belief is that there is nothing more important in therapy than the therapeutic relationship. It is therefore a priority to be nonjudgmental and display warmth, respect, and a sense of humor when working with clients. I have a strong career background in mental health care in primary care, home-based counseling, cognitive impairment challenges, caregiver support, and community mental health. This has allowed me the valuable opportunity to work with and relate to clients of many different ages, backgrounds, and situations. I maintain that every client is unique and should receive a therapy approach that is individualized. Typically I incorporate a strength-based perspective, resilience, insight, exploration, and CBT to help clients better understand themselves and manage life challenges. My particular clinical interests include anxiety, depression, chronic health issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship changes. Mental health is just as real and important as physical health, and I value working toward overall optimal wellness.
