Geriatrics, Internal Medicine
I believe that patients should be provided with comprehensive, skilled care encompassing mind, body, and spirit. I believe it is an amazing privilege to be entrusted with a patient’s healthcare needs and it is important to develop an honest relationship with the patient as to what realistic expectations are.
I try to truly listen to patients and empower them to be involved in their care by tapping into their resources, capabilities and motivation. We need to make good use of our time, so I expect patients to be prepared for their visit with data and questions/concerns. I believe I need to educate patients to take care of themselves between our visits. I believe prevention is the key to a healthy and active life. Even if one does have chronic conditions, I believe that if well managed, one can still live a fulfilling life. You only have one and it is my job to help you make it a great one!
