RapidArc® Radiotherapy

Rap­i­dArc® is an advanced tech­nol­o­gy used in our True­Beam™ sys­tem to deliv­er Inten­si­ty Mod­u­lat­ed Radi­a­tion Ther­a­py (IMRT) with speed and pre­ci­sion. Rap­i­dArc has short­er treat­ment times than con­ven­tion­al IMRT which makes treat­ment more com­fort­able for patients because they spend less time in their dai­ly treatments.

Com­put­er-gen­er­at­ed images are used to plan and deliv­er the radi­a­tion dose. Rap­i­dArc rotates 360-degrees around the patient, and deliv­ers a sculpt­ed, tight­ly-focused beam of radi­a­tion direct­ly to a tumor from mul­ti­ple angles. Dur­ing treat­ment, the beam is con­tin­u­al­ly shaped and mod­u­lat­ed to con­form to the shape of the tumor which deliv­ers less radi­a­tion to healthy sur­round­ing tissue.
