A board-certified urologist and President of DuPage Medical Group, Dr. Paul Merrick is an experienced practitioner specializing in treatment of all types of urologic disease and issues. His clinical expertise includes particular emphasis in the care of cancer patients, voiding dysfunction and kidney stones.
Dr. Merrick offers evaluation and treatment for all states of prostate cancer including minimally invasive intervention of nerve-sparing surgery and brachytherapy for treatment of localized cancer. Dr. Merrick has treated thousands of patients and offers a variety of minimally invasive treatments, both medical and surgical. He enthusiastically receives all patients and his goal is full satisfaction of the healthcare experience for the patient.
Dr. Merrick has been in practice at DuPage Medical Group since 1994. He graduated from University of Illinois Undergraduate School and completed both medical school and his residency at Rush University in Chicago.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Jean Houlihan strives to partner with her patients to manage a healthy lifestyle. Her clinical interests include women’s health, preventive care, cardiac health and cholesterol management.
Dr. Houlihan has been practicing in DuPage County since 1995. She received her degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. While completing her internship and residency at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, she received a Robert E. Slayton Prize for Special Competence, Sensitivity and Compassion in Medical Oncology and a Department of Internal Medicine Award for Excellent Work as a Resident.
A board-certified physician in Family Practice and Secretary of DuPage Medical Group, Dr. Michael Fitzgerald is an experienced family medicine physician whose expertise includes diabetes, asthma, sports medicine and acute care issues. Dr. Fitzgerald focuses on teaching families, including children and the elderly, how to stay healthy, active, and injury-free. He has instructed medical students in a variety of settings, including family practice clinics, intensive care units and pediatric and obstetric wards.
Dr. Fitzgerald is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. He is affiliated with Edward Hospital.
Dr. Fitzgerald has been a member of the DMG Family Practice Department since 2001. He earned his medical degree in 1998 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill., and completed his residency at MacNeal Family Practice in Berwyn, Ill.
A board-certified physician in critical care, sleep medicine and pulmonary medicine and Treasurer of DuPage Medical Group, Dr. John Porcelli is a Chicago native who brings extensive experience to DMG. Dr. Porcelli’s clinical interests include lung cancer, emphysema, chronic cough, sarcoidosis, acute lung injury, adult asthma, sleep disorders and many other pulmonary diseases.
Dr. Porcelli is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Chicago Thoracic Society, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is affiliated with Advocate Good Samaritan, Central DuPage and Edward hospitals. He also maintains an academic appointment at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.
Dr. Porcelli joined DMG in 2004. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1994 and his medical degree in 1998 from Rush Medical College in Chicago. In 2001, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and later underwent intensive fellowship training in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood from 2001-2004, where he served as Chief Fellow from 2003-2004.
A board-certified member of DuPage Medical Group’s internal medicine and pediatrics departments, Dr. David Dungan is an experienced internist who specializes in infant, child and adolescent healthcare. He is a certified provider of neonatal advanced life support (NALS) and basic life support, as well as a certified instructor in advanced cardiac life support. His special areas of clinical interest include cholesterol, hypertension, nutrition and preventive medicine, including obesity prevention. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Dungan chairs the data committee and serves as medical advisor for the Fighting Obesity Reaching healthy Weight Among Residents of DuPage (FORWARD) initiative in DuPage County, which is dedicated to building community based systems to counter the growing problem of childhood obesity and its complications. In addition, Dr. Dungan is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians. He is affiliated with Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.
Dr. Dungan joined DMG in 2000. Prior to joining DuPage Medical Group, Dr. Dungan received his medical degree in 1988 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood. He completed his combined Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Loyola University Medical Center/Foster McGaw Hospital.
Board-certified in Radiology, Dr. Juliet Fallah serves on our radiology team and is the radiation safety officer of DuPage Medical Group. She developed policies and implemented protocols for DMG patients to minimize and track imaging radiation exposure.
Dr. Fallah has been practicing at DuPage Medical Group for several years, following her work at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital where she developed the PET/CT program as well as the CT angiography program. She completed her fellowship training in chest imaging at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Donald Hoscheit specializes in diseases and disorders of the digestive tract. Dr. Hoscheit has particular interest in endoscopic surgery, colon cancer detection and screening, colitis, Crohn's disease and peptic ulcer disease.
Dr. Hoscheit is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Chicago Society for Gastroenterology and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America and the DuPage County Medical Society. He has also been elected a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Hoscheit joined DMG in 1987. He received his medical degree in 1982 from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill. He is affiliated with Central DuPage, Delnor Community and Edward Hospitals, as well as the DMG Center for Surgery.
A board-certified physician in internal medicine, Dr. Richard Krouse brings a wealth of expertise to DMG. Dr. Krouse practices general internal medicine and has a special interest in exercise physiology.
Dr. Krouse is a member of the American College of Physicians as well as the American Medical Association. He is currently affiliated with Advocate Good Samaritan and Adventist Hinsdale Hospitals.
Dr. Krouse joined DMG in 1997.He earned his medical degree in 1983 from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.
A board-certified physician in DuPage Medical Group’s critical care, sleep medicine and pulmonary medicine departments, Dr. Ravi Nemivant is an experienced, dedicated and specialized physician. His clinical interests include caring for the critically ill, asthma, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, lung cancer, thoracic oncology, all pulmonary diseases and adult sleep disorders, including sleep apnea and snoring.
Dr. Nemivant is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Chicago Thoracic Society. He is affiliated with Advocate Good Samaritan and Central DuPage, Edward Hospitals and is on the academic staff at Loyola University Medical Center.
Dr. Nemivant joined DMG in 2005. He received his medical degree in 1998 from Rush Medical College in Chicago where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Society. In 2002, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Chicago's Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center where he was named Chief Resident in 2001-2002. Dr. Nemivant completed fellowship training in Pulmonary & Critical Care medicine at Loyola University Medical Center and Hines Veterans Administration Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., from 2002-2005, and was named Chief Fellow at Loyola University Medical Center from 2004-2005.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Mathew Philip specializes in the management of patients with complex health issues through DuPage Medical Group's BreakThrough Care Center.
Dr. Philip joined DMG in 2009. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2006 and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Michael A. Kasper is the Chief Executive Officer of DuPage Medical Group. In this role he works with the Board of Directors and leads the Administrative Team to set the strategy and direct the operations of the largest independent, multi-specialty physician group in the Chicagoland area. DMG is physician-owned with more than 560 primary care and specialty physicians working together to improve quality, efficiency and access to health care for residents in west suburban Chicago and the surrounding counties.
Prior to joining DMG in September 2010, Kasper was President of Humana Illinois. Kasper has also held executive roles with Coventry Healthcare, Aetna and Kaiser Permanente. In 2011, Kasper was named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ “40 Under 40” list for his superior business leadership and achievement in the Chicago area. In 2012, Modern Healthcare magazine recognized Kasper in its yearly “Up and Comers” list of honorees for his significant impact in the field of health care.
Kasper is active as a community leader, serving as the 2008 and 2011 Co-Chair for the Chicago Heart Ball. He serves as a Board Member for the American Heart Association, a member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Associate Board Member of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. He has a Masters in Health Administration from Indiana University.
Mike Pacetti, as CFO, is responsible for cash management, accounting, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, patient accounts, coding and compliance, safety and risk management, and physician recruitment. He has been with DuPage Medical Group since 1998. In 2012, Pacetti was selected as an honoree by Daily Herald Business Ledger’s first annual “CFO of the Year Awards.”
Prior to joining DMG, Pacetti was the controller of Suburban Heights Medical Center, a group practice in the South suburbs of Chicago with over 60 physicians and a variety of ancillary services, including a surgery center. Pacetti was with Suburban Heights Medical Center for eight years. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
As Chief Operating Officer, David Spaccarelli is responsible for all operations of practices in DuPage Medical Group's South Region. He supports collaboration among medical staff and promotes DMG's progressive model of care that emphasizes quality, efficiency and access. He also focuses on clinical integration issues, streamlining operations and mapping out strategies for future growth.
Spaccarelli, who joined DMG in 2017, has extensive experience in mergers, joint venture partnerships and integrating health care operations. He understands how mergers affect patients, and he is committed to improving the overall patient experience. He also puts a premium on accountability, respect and excellence when dealing with staff.
He is an active volunteer. He serves as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters and works with Holy Family Surgery Center, a nonprofit htat provides critical surgical solutions for patients and families in Honduras.
Spaccarelli earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Xavier University in Cincinnati and an MBA from Miami of Ohio.
Part of DuPage Medical Group’s leadership team, Krishna plays a critical role in positioning DMG as one of the Chicago area’s most progressive health care organizations. In his role as Chief Administrative Officer, he collaborates with physicians and staff to improve patient outcomes, reduce health care costs, enhance business efficiency and increase patient access to care.
Krishna is responsible for all administrative operations of DMG including: Analytics, Quality Improvement, Utilization and Case Management, Customer Service, Call Center, Patient Accounts, Claims Payment, Eligibility, Coding and Reimbursement, Privacy and Compliance, HIM/Scanning, Information Technology, Project Management, Training and Implementation.
Prior to being named CAO, Krishna was DMG’s Chief Information and Transformation Officer. Before joining DMG, he served as Director of Technical Services at Epic, the leading provider of health care software based in Madison, Wisconsin. At Epic, he was involved in over 30 large-scale electronic health record implementations across the US for clients such as Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland Clinic Health System, Texas Health Resources, and NorthShore University Health System.
Krishna is affiliated with several associations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Kellogg Innovation Network (KIN). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (India), a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
In his free time, Krishna advises start-up health care IT companies, volunteers with the Chicago House, I.C. Stars and enjoys travel to new countries.
Henry Tobie has 15 years of diverse experience in the health care industry. As DuPage Medical Group’s Chief Development Officer, he provides strategic oversight with business development, physician recruitment and hospital partnership integration. With DMG’s continued expansion into Cook, DuPage and Will counties, Tobie will play an integral role in the organization’s commitment to serving patients in their own communities, when and where they need care most.
Prior to joining DMG, Tobie held business development leadership positions with ATI Physical Therapy in Bolingbrook, Illinois, where he managed and grew the company’s sales force, and led initiatives with its executive team. He also has experience in the pharmaceutical industry, receiving numerous recognitions and acknowledgments for his sales and relationship-building performance.
Tobie earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. In addition, he has completed various business-training programs through the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and Harvard Business School Executive Education.
He is fluent in Spanish and is interested in improving health care delivery in developing nations.
As Chief Information Officer, Karen Adamson is responsible for developing IT strategy and leading daily IT operations for DuPage Medical Group. Since joining DMG in 2007, Adamson assumed roles of increasing leadership within the IT department and is currently responsible for Epic and Enterprise applications, infrastructure, network, telecom, security, project management and training. She has lead initiatives such as the implementation of MyChart video visits and e-visits and patient self-scheduling through MyChart and the DMG website. Before joining DMG, Adamson served as Training Manager at Loyola University Medical Center.
Adamson earned a Bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Iowa and also studied in Seville, Spain. She holds multiple Epic certifications and is a frequent speaker on telemedicine at conferences including Epic User Group Meeting and Expert Group Meeting and HIMSS.
In her free time, Adamson serves on the Steering Committee for the American Heart Association's “Go Red Go STEM” campaign which empowers girls to explore STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) while learning about their heart health. She also serves as Volunteer Coordinator for The People’s Resource Center Westmont Food Pantry, one of DMG’s Charitable Fund initiatives.
