Coronavirus (COVID-19)


As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread in the U.S. and across the globe, DuPage Medical Group is following the latest developments and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and other key health organizations. Our most important priority is keeping our patients, employees and physicians safe. We have a task force comprised of physician and administrative leaders who are meeting daily to ensure that we are addressing concerns and taking necessary steps to limit spread within our communities.

If you are feeling well, we hope you will continue to attend your appointments and procedures as regularly scheduled. If you are exhibiting flu-like or respiratory illness symptoms, please call us in advance if your visit is routine. If you have an elective visit or test scheduled, we may ask you to consider rescheduling your appointment(s) for when you are feeling well.

What DMG is Doing to Ensure Patient Safety:

We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our patients, providers and employees. We continue to update our clinical protocols based on the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and other key health organizations.

Clinical Protocols

Our providers and employees are well-trained in infection control best practices, including the effective use of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and goggles. We continue to ensure that all areas within our clinic locations are cleaned regularly with cleaning products that have been approved by the EPA as effective against coronavirus (COVID-19). We have implemented a thorough screening process and clinical pathway that allows us to quickly isolate anyone experiencing potential coronavirus symptoms.

Per the Illinois Department of Public Health, effective May 1, 2020, Illinois residents over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask or face covering when in public. Please wear a mask or face covering (such as a scarf or bandana) during your entire visit only remove it if asked to do so by your provider.

Location Updates

To protect the safety of our patients, employees and the community, several of our clinic locations are no longer be offering in-clinic appointments. If there is a change of location for your upcoming appointment, your providers’ office will provide you with an update via MyChart or phone.

Virtual Healthcare Options

We are offering our patients additional options to continue to receive care with their providers; we have increased our e-visit and video visit capabilities. Virtual healthcare appointments are available for sick and well visits with primary care and specialty providers. COVID-19 Exposure, Illness and Testing

If you’re experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness, such as fever, cough​ or shortness of breath or have had exposure to someone with a confirmed or suspected case of coronavirus (COVID-19), our team is equipped to test for COVID-19 and manage your condition. Please take the following steps for testing and to limit the spread:

Step 1 - Limit the spread

  • Stay at home. Most people with COVID-19 experience mild illness and recover at home. Don't leave your home, except to get medical care.
  • Isolate yourself as much as possible from others in your home. As much as you can, stay in a specific room and if possible, use a separate bathroom from other people and pets in your home.
  • Help protect people in your home and community. Follow these steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 if you are sick or have been exposed.
    • Wear a mask over your nose and mouth.
    • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
    • Clean your hands often.
    • Avoid sharing personal items such as dishes, drinking glasses, utensils, towels or bedding. Wash these items often.
    • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces frequently, such as counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, and bedside tables.

Step 2 - Stay in touch with your doctor

  • Call ahead. Before visiting any of our clinic locations, call 1-888-693-6437, choose option 3 to be connected with a nurse who will speak with you about your symptoms and inform you on next steps
    • If you are experiencing symptoms, call before you seek medical care. If you are having any trouble breathing, or have any other emergency warning signs, seek care immediately.
  • Connect with your primary care provider. Your primary care provider will give you care instructions as well as an order to schedule a COVID-19 test at one of our testing facilities.

Step 3 - Schedule your test

  • Call our COVID-19 hotline. To schedule a time for a drive-up COVID-19 test in Bloomingdale, Lisle or Lockport, please call 1-888-693-6437 and an associate will schedule you with a time and location that works best for you.
    • A provider testing order is required prior to visiting any of our testing locations. Please contact your primary care provider.

Step 4 - Drive-up for your test

  • Arrive for your test. At your designated time, arrive at our Bloomingdale, Lisle or Lockport facilities and follow the COVID-19 drive-up testing signage.
  • Stay in your car and follow the directional signage at your clinic.
    • Bloomingdale - Follow the signage to the West side of the building. Please call the phone number listed on the directional signage when you have arrived. A member of our care team will come out to your car.
    • Lisle - Follow the signage to the North entrance, the rear of the building. A member of our care team will come out to your car.
    • Lockport - Follow the signage to the designated testing area. A member of our care team will come out to your car.
  • Have your ID ready and your mask on. Our care team will confirm your patient information and complete your swab.

Step 5 - Wait for your results and rest at home

Antibody Testing

DuPage Medical Group is offering the Roche COVID-19 antibody test for patients. We are the first outpatient medical group to obtain this test nationally. The Roche test is the most accurate antibody test available, with a high sensitivity that approaches 100% that provides us with the best results possible.

If you would like to get an antibody test, please call your primary care provider. Your physician will need to order the test for you and will talk with you about your current health history and symptoms to confirm the antibody test is the right test for you at this time. Your physician will also direct you to the best DuPage Medical Group location near you for testing.

Express Care & Immediate Care Centers Update:

To ensure the safety of our patients, employees and care teams, patients will need an appointment to be seen at our Express Care and Immediate Care Centers, effective Friday, March 20, 2020. Although we’re no longer accepting walk-ins, these locations have appointments available seven-days-a-week. Please call 1-888-693-6437 to schedule an appointment at the most appropriate location for your health concern.

Visitor Restrictions:

As a pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sure to keep our patients, vis­i­tors and care team mem­bers safe, we are work­ing to lim­it the num­ber of peo­ple in our wait­ing rooms and at our facilities.

  • Patients may bring a visitor to their clin­ic vis­its if the person is necessary to assist with the appointment and/or the patient’s care. Visitors must be over the age of 18. All patients and visitors are required to complete the on-site screening process and wear a facemask while in our buildings.
  • If you are dri­ving a patient to their appoint­ment or watch­ing chil­dren dur­ing an adult’s vis­it, we kindly ask that you wait in your car.

Medical Records Requests

To protect you, our patients and our staff, we recommend requesting your medical records be sent securely via e-mail or mailed to a preferred address instead of in-person pick-up for paper copies.
